suspension idea
well i just got a 70 C10swb truck as a new project. my last one was a 96 z28 camaro lt1 6speed. i did lots of work to her but the body and interior were pretty much shot (money went to motor and suspension parts). so instead of getting rid of all the good parts i was thinking of doing a custom rear suspension on the truck. and put a camaro torque arm suspension on it. got all brand new parts to start with including coilover shocks. just wondering what you guys think of this idea. i think it should work pretty good and ride nice with the stuff i have and sorta be one of a kind. the truck right now has leafs a 327 and th350. going to have torque arm suspension 383LT1 and t56. also 12 bolt moser with 4.10 gears.

Re: suspension idea
From what I know of the torque arm suspension is that you will either have to lengthen the torque arm to match the wheel base or shorten the wheel base to match the torque arm.
The pivot of the torque arm is supposed to match the pivot of your U-joint off the transmission. You probably could use a 2 piece shaft to easily give you the extra length you need. It is a good set-up, but has swap limitations. |
