wiper trouble
How many others have had trouble with the wiper arms and blades from Classic Parts? I would assume they are probably the same ones that the other places sell also.
I am putting the finishing touches on my 1964 C10 and wanted to upgrade. I had a stock set, but the arms were starting to haze pretty bad and the blades were pretty much toast. Everything held together good, but just looked ratty. So I ordered a set from classicparts.com. I received the blades and arms, but the wiper blades will not push onto the arms at all. Checked the part numbers and they do match the catalog. The slots on the wiper blades are woo wide and the spring too flimsy. The arms when compared against my stock tri-co ones are not correct either. The retainer bump or nub or whatever is larger in diameter (looks slightly smashed). And the extension of the arm from the nub to the end of the arm is longer than stock. Just to check, I tried the repro arms with my stock blades and they would not fit, then I tried the repro blades on the stock arms. The stock arms would install, but it only took a very slight movement for the blade to fall right off. I intend to return these blades and arms since they will not work. Does anybody have other suggestions for blades and arms that are sturdy enough to hold up and perform? |

Re: wiper trouble
I found that the Anco 31-13 wiper blades will fit stock tri-co wiper arms securely with the adapters. However, they will not properly fit the Classic Parts wiper arms. the retaining nubs on the Classic Parts arms are too smashed down and mushroomed to retain the blades.
