Help with Horn install...

I'm installing a new horn and need a little help. This is quoted directly from the instructions...

"Connect the Orange wire to any wire that has a constant positive 12 volts (not an on/off wire)."

Now as simple as this sounds, I haven't done anything like this before. Closest I've done is hooking up my stereo, but that uses "an on/off wire".

Any suggestions on which wire I could use? Obviously I don't want to go directly to the battery in case it sucks up too much juice.

Thanks

Actually the stereo should have used a constant power for the memory.

stereo should have used both, run it to the fuse box and put an inline fuse. Your fusebox should have an empty space with constant power.

If not, and you have enough cable, hook it up to your cigarette lighter cord... Same with the memory wire off your stereo...

In the fuse box, you will have open spaces labeled ign and bat. The ign slot is hot only when the key is on. Bat is always hot. Put a male spade connector on the wire and plug it in the bat space.

Thanks everybody for the responses, yes, it's an aftermarket horn. I still have my stock horn and all, but I just wanted to add this one.

Sounds like my friend who put an awooga horn in his honda. He moved it to his '92 Chevy now along with his PA system. We have WAY too much fun with that stuff...

I wired a 6v. VW horn into my stock horn wire. They sound reeeeally obnoxious together.
