Welcome to the site. Talk about different, I don't think I have ever seen one of that vintage done like that before.

Re: 1970 chevy van 4x4 project

Hello in Dearborn Heights.

I will drive down and take that van off your hands any time One of my favorite non truck vehicles. I have always wanted a windowless one.

Good luck with your project. Not the way I would do it but then again, it is not mine. It will be interesting and very unique when you get it finished.

If I was not moving to Oregon next month, I would drive down your way and check it out.

Have fun,
Tom

Re: 1970 chevy van 4x4 project

funny you say that kale my org plan was to paint van black and have 2 mureals painted on it one was going to be a old family grave yard in the woods and have a huge buck picking his way through it walking by a old wooden tree stand up a tree, the other side was going to be a siliver moon lite knight with snow on the ground and a hand full of elk working up a basen where you could make out the tracks in the snow and a pack of wolves tracking them was going to call the van Night Moves, new plan is to paint van that 2007 mustan hot blue snow cammo all the door handles and dash panal parts, have the dash pad covered in deer skin the inside door panals the same, have both frount seats done in como.the inside rear in all white ceder wood with a bed in the rear i mite have a light house painted on the van for my wife she likes them but my new name for van is Sasquath going to run 31 or 33 inch tires

Re: 1970 chevy van 4x4 project

that will be pretty difficult because those early vans don't have a separate frame. they are uni body. but pretty kool idea. I had 4 of them in the past and enjoyed them very much. good luck with your project.. sounds like fun!. I love vannin! dave
