Haven't started it yet so have no idea how its going to work.
The guy I bought mine from recommended gaskets.

Re: Sanderson Headers

High blue57, as a past ase dealer mechanic fixing every possible type of exhaust leak this is what i did with my sanderson tight tuck headers in my 68 c10 with a 2001 5.3. I used the revised gm exhaust manifold to head bolts. Unless the manifold gasket is a embossed stainless steel, i always use rtv silicone (oxygen sensor safe). When fixing motor homes with leaking manifolds we would shave the manifolds flat, use rtv and bolt on right away. This was the only way that lasted. With a thick composition gasket what happens is the gasket collapses under the prevailing torque and now it's loose and the narrow opening is like a blow torch. I had trouble with the 3 bolt collector gasket every year so this winter i took the headers off and cut off the 3 bolt collector and tig welded on v band clamps i purchased from ebay. Zero leakage and very serviceable, and clean and tidy. The sanderson headers are for 68 and up nova with a ls.

Re: Sanderson Headers

I tried soft copper, leaked like a sieve. Used ultra black RTV, hasn't leaked in years.
