Driveshaft mounting question
Since my truck didn't come with a motor, trans or driveshaft I've got a few questions.
I've installed a SM465, measured the driveshaft length and gave the dims to the shop. They had a good donor driveshaft the right length with a slip joint and are installing new u-joints and balancing it tomorrow. My question is concerning the hardware. He says he has the U-bolts but I seem to remember a couple of blots threaded in to the back of the trans... does the rear end and or the trans use U-bolts or the I'll call them U-brackets (the flat U's) that would bolt on with conventional bolts. Oh, and if someone can confirm that both ends use 1310 u-joints that would help too. The shop determined they were from the measurements I provided but... Thanks,

Something like these, you mean? The straps? I think SM465's (some of them, anyway) do have them. |
