My '71 is now gone....
Last weekend was a bit of a bummer as I said farewell to the '71 C10 that has been my daily driver for the past 5 years. A choice had to be made though. My dad was selling his '78 K30 and I can only have two vehicles at the apartment building. So, the '71 was sold in order to upgrade to a 4 wheel drive. Had to post one last pic of my former truck:

I can only imagine what you are feeling. I hope I'm never in a position where a choice like that has to be made.
Stay strong!

Re: My '71 is now gone....
I had to do that last year myself when i got my orders to San Diego. Could only afford to move one accross country. Mine was a '69 GMC 2500 Custom Camper with the Longhorn bed. Was a great truck, but my other is a '69 C10 with a well built 396 and a 3.73 posi rear.
Choices have to be made and I think you made a good choice on the upgrade. Post some pics of your 'new' truck.

Re: My '71 is now gone....
I didn't have a lot of time to deal with on moving one truck and getting the other, so getting rid of the '63 was not a viable option. Plus, with the money I got from the '71 I paid for the '78 and have several hundred dollars in my pocket. I am happy as the K30 will be nice to have this winter when the snow gets deep, and that was really the reason I got it. I got stuck a lot last winter in the '71.

Re: My '71 is now gone....
I would have put the running gear off the 78 under the 71
