Depends on which motor mounts are used. I used the hedman ls swap kit and leaves the compressor in the stock location. It's pricier than some other kits, but by the time you add a relocation kit, it's kinda of a wash.

Didn't even know they made mounts. So with the hedmans everything fits, no issues?

Just looked into the hedmans setup and there for a 4l60. I'm going to be running a th400.

You can relocate the A/C compressor with the Holley LS Truck A/C relocation kit, they are inexpensive and will save you serious headaches.

The 4l80e, which I assume is the same as the 400.

The only fittment issue, was I had to clearance the driver frame for one of the header tubes, & I mean barely grind it.

Google is your friend. There are several brackets that will relocate it for you. Just depends on how much you want to spend. Mine is a LS bracket.

Kwik performance make a LSx ac relocation set up for $200.00. I think you gotta buy sanden compressor. Total cost involved is $400.00. Good luck.

Basically, the guy used an A/C bracket off of a TBI 4.3 V-6 (the same is also on the TBI 350), trimmed off the lower section, and made a couple of support brackets to keep it from moving. Looks as good as factory and allows you to keep your existing A/C compressor in the stock location. It should also save you the money from having to re-work your lines and then recharging the system after splicing everything together (if you have to right compressor to start). I'm lucky and have a TBI 350 in my '89 K5 so I already have the right bracket and compressor to go this route instead of paying $$$ for the bracket kit, compressor, and recharge.

If you go DD you will need to replace their supplied tensioner with a Gates-38164 which cost another $45...I just had to do this.

I have several thousand miles on my set up as seen on the floor, which is all D D, why did you have to change your tensioner?

We have different brackets. My belt kept jumping and the bracket vibrated badly. But DD was cool and replaced the money I spent on the spring tensioner. I have no problem with DD!
