Lots of mph... no reason it can't go low 10's with a verter swap or just plain better 60'

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
Is that supposed to be 12psi? Sounds like WAY more than the "2 psi" the top of the vid says.
thing rips tho

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
Yea launching at 2psi off the foot brake. I had the lightest tial spring in the gate (5lb) boost was very inconsistent 5lb to 15lbs during the passes. Im adding another waste gate and I'm looking at doing a mod to allow me to manually force the 80e into 3rd by grounding the solenoid then interrupting the ground to launch in 1st. Forcing the 80e into 3rd I will hopefully be able to make a lot more boost on the foot brake@ launch. Basically making a "farmers transbrake".
Will be back at the track in 2 weeks for another test and tune to push it a little harder. And yes all they allow 3 passes under 11.50' before getting the boot. (No cage)

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
Nice setup. You can definitely knock off at least 1/2 second with that mph especially if you can get up on boost before launch.

I've seen the hillbilly transbrake via Denmah on 'Tech. Never tried it though, as my hydroboost and 2 step let me build more than enough to shred the Mickeys from a dig. Bigger front tires might let you hold it more before it pushes? That's pretty generous! Our local track...you run too fast...you're gone.

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
I was wondering if you still have the 12 bolt rear end on this set up and if so what's done to it so it can hold up can't make up my mind on my 12 bolt or 9in but yours seems to be holding up to some good power

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
12 bolt rears are better than many people give credit, since the "go big or go home" answer will ALWAYS be a custom 9".
In a drag car, an 8.8 or 9" has advantages, not in the least being the quick change gear sets. A 12 bolt however is a fine trans for most folks. Its fairly beefy from a build standpoint, unlike the 10bolt. The c clips will always be an issue. I have a set of good axles in mine, and that takes a big chunk of the worry out right away. I'm still concerned about grenading the whole carrier or something, but not on the stree.

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
I recently moved to a 9" but 1.43 60's spinning on the 100 hit, well I think the truck 12 bolt was on borrowed time with the full N20 kit. It had moser axles, C-clip eliminators, auburn posi.
I think a properly built truck 12 bolt could live at mid/low 1.5 60's..

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
It's a stock12 bolt with moser axles and a mini spool. No issues so far. It's been about 2 years with this power. The 80e is a lot easier on the rear than the Muncie was.

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
I too have been putting 700+ whp through my 12 bolt for the past couple years, and 500+ for the 3-4 years before that, all of them on a drag radial. It's bone stock with the exception of a chromoly 1350 yoke, and an Auburn posi. Even has the stamped steel cover.
I have a feeeling it is next to let loose...but it certainly doesn't owe me anything at this point, and I agree with Brew City that it's a lot stronger than people will have you believe.

Re: track video of my 71C10 turbo 6.0L
I'm running a car 12 bolt with Mark Williams spool and axles on a big slick (32x14x15). Truck weighs 3900 race weight w/driver and turn 1.40 60' times like clockwork off the footbrake.
12 bolt rear ends will definitely take the abuse and cost less HP to spin than a 9" Ford. Only advantage to the Ford rear swap might be availability of parts or second hand pieces.
