Column swap options
What options do we have for column swaps aside from the blinged out $600 aftermarket units?
I want to get rid of the rag joint, and the badly designed bearings in my '65 manual column. Thanks! |

Re: Column swap options
Better yet, does anyone know the spline count on a '65 manual steering box?
Thanks! |

Re: Column swap options
I had a tilt column from a 72 Chevy PU installed in my 65 Suburban with the P/S setup as well. I was also able to keep my original steering wheel.

Re: Column swap options
Mainly just trying to get rid of the rag joint.
I cut my inner shaft right past the firewall, was going to put some Borgeson u joints on it, but now I'm wondering if a '72 tilt would be a nice upgrade, and still u joint it. I have a spare XJ intermediate shaft, doesn't fit my '65 shaft obviously, but does it fit the 72? |

Re: Column swap options
Late 70s early 80s Chevy vans and motorhomes. Tilt and no key on the cup. You can shave the auto shifter nub if you have a manual floor shift. Wiring and steering wheel are the same. Installed one in my 65 and fell together.
