More scarce GM serpentine 140A brackets available!

Okay...I have found a second LH GM serpentine bracket which allows the use of a bolt on large case 140A alternator. This also uses a specific thermostat housing which routes the upper radiator hose behind the alternator-there is also a brace for the alternator which secures to it and the front exhaust manifold bolt. You won't need to change the RH bracket for this upgrade-only the left hand side. I'm asking $175 for this "kit" and you'll get:

RH 140A alternator bracket w/hardware
Thermostat housing (specific to this bracket)
Thermostat gasket (Fel-Pro performance gasket, reuseable)
Rear alternator brace
Side alternator brace (secures one side to the first intake bolt)
Power steering pulley
Guided water pump pulley (hard to find)
Upper radiator hose

If anybody is interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send you pics....probably easier that way than adding a ton of pics here. Again, this is a 140A alternator upgrade for an existing serpentine system BUT, if you are looking for a complete swap over kit with everything, unpainted but cleaned and oiled hardware, I have full sets for $350 plus shipping. That gets you everything above plus:

RH serpentine bracket w/hardware
Crank pulley
New tensioner
New idler

Here's a pic showing the stock GM serpentine bracket on the left and the optional 140A bracket on the right. Along with it are the required braces and t-stat housing for it. Hopefully this gives you an idea-its a very sweet upgrade over a stock serpentine setup and better than anything GM offers with theirs. All of the pieces you see are discontinued and GM doesn't offer aftermarket versions. Again, I prefer these because it allows you to source parts easily at any parts store. The Rockauto link is the best place I've found for a NEW Delco Remy 140A alternator. No parts store comes close to that price!! I have 3 sets left-I sold one this morning so if you want one, PM me!

Re: More scarce GM serpentine 140A brackets available!

That was from a 9C1 TBI 350 Caprice circa 1993-94 iirc. I designed my adapter brackets from the last bracket I had on hand-very hard to find anymore but since I have an adapter kit for use on a stock GM serpentine bracket its not such a big deal now. No easier way to install a 140A alternator!

Re: More scarce GM serpentine 140A brackets available!

Didn't some of the mid 90s vans have these too?

Not that I'm aware of....at least not with a TBI 350. The 9C1 Caprices had quite the electrical demand. The newer style (1996-up) Vortec engines had a bracket with dual mounting holes depending on 3 different alternator options-but those are different brackets altogether.

Re: More scarce GM serpentine 140A brackets available!

My CS144 alternator came off a conversion van. I didn't pay that much attention to the bracket but it was a serpentine setup.
