First time driving my truck won a trophy

This truck build took way too long. I have had this truck for 8 years and finally got it finished enough to drive it. Took it around the block Friday night to put some gas in it and decided it was time. There was a toys for tots toy run today so I went. The guy running the show told me to hng out because I was going to win a trophy. I'm not that much of a trophy guy and told him to give it to another car od truck. My son who is ten, thought it would be cool and we should take the trophy. It was a nice first day out with the truck and my family. Just wanted to share.

Well done.

Forgive me for being distracted, but do you recall what kind of car was sitting on your passenger side?

Re: First time driving my truck won a trophy

Looks to me like it might be an '73 Laguna Chevelle. My brother bought a new one in "73 with the swivel front seat option. If I remember right it had S3 Laguna emblems on it as well.

Good looking truck too!

Re: First time driving my truck won a trophy

Congrats man! A well deserved trophy. I remember your truck from years back on the forum. I've always liked the way you did the two tone paint. The black and silver look great together. Do you have any recent side view pics of it?

Don't know about the passenger side but on his drivers is a Plum Crazy (In Violet) 1970 Road Runner or GTX.

Nice truck BTW

Looks good. I'm always trying to decide whether to two tone at the body line or top of the grill.

Re: First time driving my truck won a trophy

Now that i finally have it finished I'm trying to decide what to do with it next. I think its time for a Porterbuilt drop member or LS swap or just sell it and start a new project. I think my wife is going to kill me. LOL.

Thank you.

I have a '74 Chevelle/Malibu (owned since new).

I thought I recognized that quarter window trim, and the feature line on the fender/door!!

Figured that was a Chrysler. What little you can see looks a little like my 1969 Polara 500 but shorter front fender...
Nice truck. I usually prefer the 73-79 front ends but that could win me over. That's a real nice rig.

Man the problem with this thread is:
Not enough pics of that award winning truck!

You should include one of the kid with the Trophy too, don't ya think? :-)

Congrats! 8 years and sounds like you did it right!

My parents were there with their car. They took a picture of my son with the trophy. I will have to get it from them and post it up. My son thought it was cool how everyone looks at us when we drive down the street. My wife said she has fun as well. It was a nice family day for us.
