lowering....
Has anyone on here cut coils to lower there truck??? Why is my truck lower in the rear than it is in the front??? Is that common on these trucks?? I have coils on the front and leafs on the rear.... I don't have the money for buying a big fancy four link air ride set up on the rear right now so I'm just gonna heat the springs on the back and cut the coils on the front or heat them also....

Re: lowering....
Cut the front coils do not heat them, and take a little off at a time.

Re: lowering....
you can cut a coil out of the front with a cutoff wheel for around a 2" drop
but heat will ruin a spring don't do it

Re: lowering....
Okay so if I cut one whole coil off the front springs it should lower it about 2-3 inches.... Will it make it ride rough???

Re: lowering....
My truck has a coil cut out of the front springs and I don't find it to be a rough ride.

Re: lowering....
Like stated above, cutting one coil will give you approx 2" of drop. I have done this many times on several different vehicles and noticed no real change in ride. Cutting much more will change the ride though. And not for the better.
