66 driveshaft

I have a 66 c10 swb I am wanting to install a 350 with a 350 transmission. I found a mid 70s c10 with both. The truck is a swb. Will the driveshaft out of the mid 70 c10 fit my 66 ?

Re: 66 driveshaft

I have read somewhere on this site that it will. Be sure and check the proper yoke slip play...

Really the only way to be sure is to measure it.

Re: 66 driveshaft

I believe my drive shaft came from a 72 when the PO was putting the truck together (250 + TH350). When I swapped the engine for my 350 and moved forward (3") I had the shaft re-tubed.

Re: 66 driveshaft

I guess what I should have asked is a swb 73-85 chevy c10 the same length as a 64-66 c10 swb truck?

Re: 66 driveshaft

When it comes to driveshafts it is very rare that you can take a driveshaft from one vehicle and have it fit correctly in another vehicle. There are just too many variables. I'd say it is a 50/50 chance it will fit. If it doesn't fit, and hopefully it is too long, just have it shortened.
