High back to low back seat conversion
Has anyone converted a high back bucket seat to a low back? Was thinking of asking my local upholstery shop. They need recovering anyhow.

If its a daily driver i wouldn't do it,With out headrest in a wreck you can get whiplash bad or other neck problems.

Re: High back to low back seat conversion
Point taken but that's not my current concern. Our trucks don't have airbags either. I appreciate your input though.

Re: High back to low back seat conversion
High back seat counts as a headrest its just not adjustable. But if you want low backs it might be easier and cheaper to find a set used or go aftermaket like procar seat.

Re: High back to low back seat conversion
I don't think it would be any different than using a bench seat as far as head support is concerned. I just thought since I needed them recovered maybe they could bring it down a bit. I had them shave down a bench seat for an s10 that had built in headrests once. I suppose taking it to them would be the best answer to my question. I was just hoping maybe someone on here has already done it and can give me some insight whether it worked out or not.
