Assembling a fleetside bed
Hi, just wondering what length carriage bolts are needed for putting a steel floor bed back together for my 70' longbed. Measuring the bolts that I removed I came up with 7/8" in length......3/4"&1" are readily avail, will the 3/4" work?

Re: Assembling a fleetside bed
No I don't think your gonna have that much extra to go back to a 3/4 unless you threw away all of the round thick washers that were on the bottom side of the bed. A lot of people let those get away from them on the first bed they do and end up either not putting them back or using a hardware kit to get them to assemble the bed. Then for the next time [and for most there is a next time] they keep the thick washers. I'd go with the 1 inch and be a little long rather than being too short. Jim

Re: Assembling a fleetside bed
Here is a source for thick washers, not sure if they are exactly the same though.
