Power Steering Decisions
Need opinions from you guys that are using these set ups on your 55-59 trucks. Trying to decide which power steering to go with, the 400 series box from cpp that bolts up in the stock location or the kit that mounts the steering box on the outside front of the frame. Was told with the box outside frame you could not turn the wheels full to the right without rubbing box. What are the pros and cons of both?

Re: Power Steering Decisions
I installed the CPP kit on my wife's 57 straight axle with an ididit column. It hooked up just fine, turns great and makes the steering alot easier for her. I had to relief a little on the edge of the frame rail but that was it. I purchased this kit: 4759PSK-S500
Came complete with everything except P/S pump. Lots of folks install 'toyota pumps' but those are becoming scarce so I just went with the cpp kit. Well made and the instructions were good for me. I will see if I can dig up any pictures of the install.

Re: Power Steering Decisions
I originally purchased the series 500 pump kit but since I had a 350 and crossmember, things were getting in the way. Now installing a 400 series which will bolt in the same place as original and connect to my ididit steering column.....not ididit but Summit racing equivalent just much less expensive
