Re: Is this a good deal?
good looking truck. Looks solid (without taking a closer look). For a project I'd say its a really good start. I think he is a little high in price tho. I'd say its worth closer to $2500-3500 in present condition (depending on actual condition upon inspection). But then thats just my opinion.

Re: Is this a good deal?
I think the author's description is fairly accurate on the rust, which would not be a major issue to repair, but pics don't always tell the real story. If possible take a look at it if you can. If you're in NJ and the truck is in Arizona you may could convince a member to look for you. There are a lot of great knowledgable guys in Arizona and may help you out. Primer and replaced panels such as doors and fenders are kind of a red flag for me, but could be nothing. I would want to really look close at the roof, drip rail and front pillar area. I would say spacedebris' value is more accurate, especially where I live, but in Arizona that may be the price

Re: Is this a good deal?
Looks like a great project to start with. I'd offer him $3500 at most.

Re: Is this a good deal?
Thanks guys all good info. I have been looking at rust buckets in NJ for a long time and have started to look out west. My crazy idea is to buy something and have it shipped and basically hope for the best. I do wish there was a way to get better vehicles to the east coast to folks who have the energy to save these rides.

Re: Is this a good deal?
I would also ask anybody selling a SWB if it started life as a short wheel base? Cutting a frame down is no bid deal to me but to a lot of guys it is, especially if done badly. Maybe ask to see a couple under frame shots of the area of frame near the rear cab mount.
Looks like a good starter but I would not want to go more that $2500.

Re: Is this a good deal?
The extra parts help with the deal, but around $3000-$3500 sounds about right for that "project"!
