I asked this question a while back but took some pics today.

Anyone seen radio knobs like the chrome one in this pic.. it compares 67 radio knob and washer with some I took from a different 67... note the solid recessed washer on the left and the more common recessed washers with the cut outs on the right.

YEP ROD .... THOSE SURE LOOK LIKE THE KNOBS, I PULLED OFF OF A 68 IMPALA AWHILE BACK. (CAN YOU SAY PACKRAT??)

Yep... they sure do... are they different in the way they mount .... my chromies have a slot in the back to fit on the shaft. Kinda like a typical newer style knob. While the normal truck ones have a hole with a compression ring in them to mount on the radio shaft. Rod

I have a Motorola radio that fits the truck that has the chrome knobs. Have not installed it yet but I am told it works.

The reason for the slots, if I recall correctly, was for an adjustment screw that was accessible thru that slot, on the front of the radio. I think it was to allow for tuning the antenna to the radio...something that AM radios needed. FM radios relied on a fixed-length antenna, later on.

If anyone else remembers, let me know.

Those style of knobs were on Oldsmobiles in the late 60's. Also probably on Pontiacs, & Buicks.

Jose found a set like the ones I found also...note the different type back slot.
