12 volt conversion on '50 Chevy 3900

I'm in the middle of converting the truck to 12 volt and I've run into an issue with the starter solenoid. Everything I've read and heard says that the old 6 volt starter will work just fine, but I need to replace the solenoid. My issue is what solenoid do I use?

if your truck has the push pedal for the starter it has no solenoid to wire

I was wondering that. I'm quite a beginner here and needed some answers. Thanks for the help!
