Suburban Bucket Seat Interchange?

I never got into the bucket seats as they are rare around here to find... Anyway I have a 1988 Suburban that looks like it will be a parts ride soon and I guess its time for me to learn...

As a set, what will these Suburban front front bucket seats fit? Suburbans only? Bolt into pickups? Or ???

Since we are on seats... will the rear seat (3rd row) bolt into a Blazer?

Thanks!

The bucket seats will bolt on pickups, but you have to bend the back of the tracks to match the truck floor. You will also need to use the inner track towers from the suburban and weld them to the truck floor.

Re: Suburban Bucket Seat Interchange?

I've heard of guys putting them in trucks, that has a bench seat. You will need the mounting points off the floor that are welded into place. I was thinking of swapping over into a set of buckets on my 88 Suburban and made sure to grab the mounts.

Enjoy,

Re: Suburban Bucket Seat Interchange?

I used 89 burb buckets in my 88 when the custom seats failed.
here's some measurement pics
I had to weld in the inner braces,to use the stock burb bases
then moved just the seats over to my 78 Jimmy bases to use them in the Jimmy,

maybe you can make your own holes, like i did.
you can switch the seats, left to right, changes the wear pattern
but watch not all seats have two arm rests.
I used dial seats, put the dial to the outside

Re: Suburban Bucket Seat Interchange?

I used the bucket seat towers and tracks from an 87 Suburban and mounted low back buckets on them from a low mileage motorhome. They were installed on a 78 GMC.
