Re: CL- 65 Crew cab

Buddy of mine in Salem owns a crew cab with the super short box stepside. I hope to own one someday.

There is no better time to buy than the present time. If you wait to long it may never happen. It took my 29 years to finally find my 1966 Crew Cab and only passed on 3 in that time span because they were well abused, badly rusted, incomplete or too much $$$ for my approval.

Re: CL- 65 Crew cab

It is worth every dime of that since it is mostly original and complete without a bunch of obvious cancer.

Heck that is the same price most folks around me think their rusted out no motor/trains long beds are worth!

Re: CL- 65 Crew cab

That's the first 2 door crew I've seen. Most of the crew cabs were made for the railroads or utility companies and were purpose built. I wonder what this one was built to do.

Re: CL- 65 Crew cab

Same one was for sale in Seattle back in May 2012 and again in Nov 2012. Price has come down some from the original $10K he was asking.

I agree! Exactly the same happening here in Arizona.

I don't know if this has ever been listed on EBay. I would think if it had been it probably would have sold. The one thing that may be holding it back from selling is not being a four door? I still think it is pretty cool. Anyone know which coach company built this one?

Re: CL- 65 Crew cab

I have a feeling about that truck and it isn't good, especially when someone who already has another for spare parts says its a RARE TRUCK. That's a red flag to me.

the 2 door crews seemed to be common* for the b.c./seattle area, most of the pics I have saved of them are from that area.

* as compared to the 4 door/3 door

pretty sure all 5 of these were from the north west, the yellow one was a northern California...

in the area they were referred to as a "crummy" and probably mostly used in logging camps.

I think it is 2 things- price is high, and it is not a 3 or 4 door- yes it is rare, and is a "factory" (coach built) conversion, but the 2 door aspect and the home built look of the sliding rear windows probably take away some of the attraction for those wanting a crew cab.

I wouldn't turn one of these 2 doors away, but I would try to flip it and find a real 4 door.

here is a pic of those sliders, they were also used in the 1 ton panel conversions and the stretched park busses
