Wheel Bearing Issue?

I have an 85 K10 4" lift on 33s. I noticed my right front tire moves in and out when you push it back and forth. The ball joints look fine so I figured it might be the wheel bearing even though it isn't making any noise. It looks like there are several bearings in the wheel/hub/spindle assembly. I can't find a kit to replace them all and should I be replacing them all? I don't know which one might be causing the issue. Anyone have any advice on where to buy the bearing kit and which ones to replace? Thanks

Re: Wheel Bearing Issue?

I just replaced my front wheel bearings on my 87' k20.

Its not too bad of a job, takes some time. There are 2 bearings in each side - you'll need a special socket to removed the spindle nuts (there are two of them, plus a special locking washer that is sandwiched between them). I bought new races and bearings from RockAuto - I think it was around $50 or so total plus shipping. You will also need a new seal for each hub.

I also did new front rotors while I had it all apart, since they are behind the hub. And I put in new wheel studs, probably could have reused the old ones but new ones were not too much $$, so I did new. Also replaced the front brake hoses while it was apart.

Pickup the 4 pin socket wrench and check the tightness of your inner lock rings. They are probably loose and need to be tightened.

Then from there see if you get any noise or excessive movement.
