Vent window on a '54
So, I got all the innards out of a door today, but can't figure out the vent window assembly. Took the 2 bolts and 3 sheet metal screws out and can get the unit to move back and forth a couple of inches, but it seems to be binding on something else. Regulator and window channel are out, any ideas?

Re: Vent window on a '54
Problem solved. There's a bolt way down at the bottom of the slider channel. Difficult to get at and I had to prevent the post from rotating with the torque applied to the bolt. Ended up measuring the location and cut a 2x3 hole with the dremel and cutoff blade, to allow access.
I'll either make a panel to cover the hole or weld the cutout piece back in. |

That bolt you need an arm with a second elbow between your wrist and elbow to get to along with slim arms rather than big guy arms.

Re: Vent window on a '54
The other headache was that the channel attached to the vent was twisting, so had to go in the top with a 17mm wrench to prevent the turning
