Panhard bar

I'm putting a 64 rear in my 62. Question is will the 64 pan hard bar work or will I still have to move the mounting bracket on the rear end. Or is there an adjustable that would work so as to eliminate having to cut and weld? I still have to move the trailing arm mounts,but the less welding the better.

The longer the bar the better. You will have to move the mount on axle. You can get one from cpp that bolts to trailing arm.

I installed a porterbuilt panhard bar and it's first class stuff. Drill out the original rivets on frame mounted pivot and bolt on a heavier braket in it's place and the other end attaches on the trailing arm end with a couple mounting hole possibilities. Very heavy nice heim ends and fully adjustable once bolted in. Looked at all panhard bars before the porterbuilt purchase and don't regret it one bit.

I agree that longer is better. Since the '62 frame is wider, neither panhard bar will simply bolt up. To use the '62 panhard bar, you will have to cut the bracket off of your HO32 and weld it to the 12 bolt axle tube or simply move the bracket on the '64 12 bolt. It would be pretty much the same to use the '64 panhard bar, but the axle tube bracket will have to move to the left rather than the right.

That part is done. Rear half of frame is done and painted. Front is stripped and needs about an hour of sandblasting and can paint and start putting back together.

So you just welded the HO32 Panhard Bracket to the 12-Bolt?

The 12 bolt was out of a 64 so just moved the bracket that was on it over to match the ho32 rear. Put both rear ends on sawhorses side by side ,made sure everything was level and took measurements.The guy welding had this fancy little degree level and made them identical ,for the pan hard bracket and the trailing arm mounts. Fell right in place.
