Another ls fuel system question.....
So i went with the external walbro pump/corvette filter/regulator, got it all plumed up with the correct fittings. Now the question part. i put the filter/regulator before the pump because of the return line, will everything still work as needed?

Re: Another ls fuel system question.....
that's a stuff one ,what I have always heard that electric fuel pumps are pushers not pullers/suckers. But just take that with a grain of salt. Have you tried it yet?

Re: Another ls fuel system question.....
If you're using the Corvette filter/regulator that I think you are, then no that will not work. That filter/regulator must be on the pressure side.

Re: Another ls fuel system question.....
Not sure if this helps but been looking at using the Holley pump for my LS swap. They provide 2 filters, one a 10 micron and the other a 100micron which MUST be used (according to them) with the 100micron on the inlet and the 10 micron on the outlet.
Reason is pumps are pushers not pullers and with the 10 on the inlet it will restrict the flow and cause issues. So, to confirm Capt Fab - filter on the pressure side. P. |

Re: Another ls fuel system question.....
This is absolutely correct. The pump must feed the supply side of the corvette fpr.
So for the supply side it should go: tank, coarse filter, fuel pump, corvette filter/regulator, engine You really should use some type of pre filter before the pump. In an in tank mounted setup it comes with a little sock that goes on the end of the pump. This is just to catch whatever big trash might get into the tank. Your Vette filter/regulator will take care of the finer dirt. |
