Shock mount cracked

Is it safe or ok to reweld a cracked shock mount on the axle tube, with everything still in place or would the heat wreck a seal or something. its just a 2 inch weld so we are not talking that much heat but this is out of my area of experience and I just had the axle seals done when we did the brakes. I can easily do the welding but if I have to pull the axle I have no experience in that.

Dana 60 leaf spring axle might not show up but here's a pic

Re: Shock mount craked

You will be fine. Tack on a washer using the shock to locate it, and remove the shock so its bushing doesn't have a melt down.
