Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff?
I have a 87 GMC V1500 that I am LS swapping as well as using most of the donor Silverado's harness.
The latest thing I am working on integrating is the brake switch/tcc unlock/cruise control. Here is the wiring description of diagram for a 2001 Silverado Brake Switch. I need similar information for the 87. So I can cut the ends off the 87 and 2001 harness and splice the 87 ends onto the 01 harness. Help?

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
does the '87 have two switches? My diagrams show a combination TCC/Brake light switch.
Pin A-pink/Black is fused 12V Pin B-Purple is power to the TCC solenoid Pin C- Orange is power for brake lamps Pin D - White power to brake lamps through the turn signal switch Cruise Control switch has two gray wires - possibly one is gray and black. Mitchell's show this in series between the cruise switch and module. Alldata shows it hooked in a parallel fashion between the switch and module. I suspect the difference is one diagram is Cruise 2 (with vacuum servo) and the other is Cruise 3 with the electric servo

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
First off, thank you soooo much!!!!
This is what I took pictures of. It looks like the pedal assy has a spot for 2 switches? These are the wiring ends I have that I labeled for brake stuff. You may be 100% correct on the only one switch though. The cruise control may be controlled separately. Cruise isn't a big deal however brake lights and lockup are. I don't see an easy way to attach the 01 switch to the 87 pedal. Could you get the same info for the wiper motor? For the 87 and 01?

Doesn't look like the 01 is BCM controlled. The only electronics is the module on the motor.
The '87 has mechanical switching.

Yeah luckily for me, 99-02 bcm doesn't control as much or like the 03-06 stuff does.
So from that do you think it is impossible to power the 87 switch using the 01 wiring?

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
Cruise functions aren't really controlled by the BCM tho, at least for the DBW cars, its just a function of the switches on the stalk. Momentary switch sets speed and coast, toggle sets on/off, and brake/tcc switch acts as a disconnect and safety.
If you have a cable throttle, then your concerned about running the cruise box itself.

My current concern is using the 2001 wiring harness to power the brake switch, torque converter unlock and seeing if I can have windshield wipers.

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
It seems that I will need to take the wiring from the column for the wiper and attach it to the pulse module from the 87 and use the 87 wiring to the wiper.
So I need to learn what wire is what and what it does for the pulse module.

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
Here are the actual switches I have. One seems to have a port for vacuum? That must be for cruise I suppose. I really don't know.
However, I think I only need to hook up to the one switch, is that right? Here is the pulse modulator, I need ok outs or diagrams for it showing what wire does what if at all possible. This is the side from the column to the module. This is the side to the harness-fuse box-to the motor. Any help on this?

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
Can anyone provide me anymore info? I may have all I need just got to figure out how to put it together. I have several other diagrams I can provide if information is needed.

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
So I hooked it up. I can only get it to either work on high or on low only even with the pulse module in place. That is a step forward i guess but i definitely prefer to at least get a high and low function but i am really striving for it to work like it should.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I need to have the brown wires on the column side of the pulse module wired in doing something but cannot find a place for them. I also can't get them to "return to park." Where when you cut off the switch it goes back to all the way down.

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
It seems that the 87 switch and the 01 switch for the wiper motor are just way too different.
I can get them to come on at a certain speed but that is it. Now I am going to try and retrofit a newer style motor with a built in circuit board such as the 01 wiper or a 90's truck and see what I can do from there. For now though, at least if I need wiper I know I can at least have them at one speed rather than none at all. So can a 99-02 wiper switch power a 73-87 wiper motor? Not really. Anyone ever seen anybody try and put a newer wiper motor on a square body?

Re: Anyone have wiring diagram for 87 brake switch, tcc unlock & cruise control stuff
I got the power door locks (lock & unlock), power windows, and power mirrors all working on my 87 with the 2001 wiring.
Here is a short video of it. Only thing I can't figure out is why I need to add a ground to the window switch to have full 12v power, otherwise it is around 6v. Only thing left on doors is to figure out what to do with the "door shut sensor" that is on the newer trucks that tells the truck the doors are shut and to cut off the lights or the door is open and cut off the radio. Doors on.
