Guys with ece mounts?

Does your motor sit this far forward? I think I'm gonna buy some dirty dingo mounts to get it to sit further back.

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

This is my install with the ECE mounts like you have. I am not sure if but I think I am farther back than your install. Maybe the mounts your frame are farther forward than mine.

Yours definitely looks further back. I wonder what the difference is?

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

AOD - those frame stands don't look factory. it also looks like someone notched your frame to fit those in?

Instead of sliders @ $150+, you could pick up a set of regular 3 position plates for around $50

These stands came with the ece mounts. I thought it was a factory stand. I just ordered some dirty dingo mounts to see if that will push it back some. DD told me I can make the right head touch the firewall with their sliders.

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

The frame notch was done by me. I was told the frame is slightly wider on the 67 trucks and I had to notch it to get the stand to fit.

Do your stands look the same as mine?

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

all of the 63-70 frames are wider at the motor perches than say the 71/72 are. Maybe even up into the 70's further. all of the aftermarket perches require the frame to be notched or trimmed about an inch or so to fit. POL, ECE, all need frame notches

I have the same kit. But I didn't have to cut or trim anything. It is in a 70.

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

I don't believe that the DD sliders will work with the ece mounts.

The dirty dingo slider is going into a factory style gm motor mount.

Re: Guys with ece mounts?

Lol They will with a little fab work & they give you front and rear adjustability
I mean in the early 90s that's what they used to say about LS swaps into classics.
OK being serious now I was commenting on another post and somehow got mixed up with this post but look up Ironworks Speed & Kustoms they make a nice mounting bracket it's amazing I haven't seen them more on these trucks it's a real nice set up the one that you want is the LS1 bracket fits like a glove & you can mount it just about anywhere I mounted mine on the driversside between brake booster & hood hinge looks almost like the factory put it there.
I hope this helps
