Gmc ignition switch
Anyone else have problems with trying to find an ignition switch for a gmc? They profs are aligned a little different than any of the chevy ones I have. So where can I get the correct switch? Any help would be appreciated

Re: Gmc ignition switch
Did you try a parts store? I know you can still get the Chevrolet switches in the Borg-Warner brand, not sure on the GMC trucks though. May have to find a used one. I have one in a 66 parts truck. Joseph

Re: Gmc ignition switch
I don't know for sure on the ignition switch but in my limited experience with GMC's, the '63-'66 GMC's use the same light and wiper switches as the '60-'63 Chevy's.

Re: Gmc ignition switch
Please post a photo of the back side of the switch with the prong configuration, it would be a big help. 20 years ago, I had a problem with a GMC not turning over, after replacing the ignition switch, it still did not turn over, turned out to be a bad starter solenoid. Interestingly, the V6 starter solenoid is the same for all engines 6 V6 and V8, all auto parts stores carry them.
