Raised tilt bed floor info/pics/suggestions
Hi all,
I'm currently building my raised bed floor. I'd like to have it tilt up at the tailgate to make easier access to air management and to show it off alittle. Any of you done this before ? if so, would you have any pics or suggestions to share. Can't decide on how i'm going to make it "tilt" . Thanks in advance.

Re: Raised tilt bed floor info/pics/suggestions
I would make a frame for the bed wood to sit on using square tubing then weld tabs for the frame to rest on at whatever height I wanted the bed to be at. Not sure how I would hinge the bed either, but maybe look for two or three quality hinges possibly designed for this already and mount to the frame supporting the bed wood and the front bed panel. Not sure how I would reinforce the front bed panel, or if that's even a good idea, just throwing it out there.
For the rear wheel wells I would either have the frame supporting the bed wood sit on top of the flange at the bottom so it can raise up and leave the tubs bolted to the bedsides OR possibly just mount the tubs to the bed so they raise together. Just throwing ideas out there. I would have to play around with it quite a bit first before I committed to anything. Since you posted this have you came up with any ideas? |

Re: Raised tilt bed floor 64 stepside info/pics/suggestions
I built a frame for the wood to sit on.( here's a pic of it. ) I also built a bracket at the tailgate so frame can rest on it. I'd like to have it hinged at or near front of the box.
