Truck newbie here. Need help w/EFI tanks
Hello fellas,
I'm all new to this truck thingy. I've built first gen camaros and now I'm building IROC camaros. Needed a truck and decided to get something "interesting". Got a 1965 Chevy C20. She's got a 350 out of a 1974 A body car and the rest is original drivetrain far as I can tell. I plan to transplant a 1989 350 TPI from an IROC. So that means a fuel injection gas tank. I've searched many threads about EFI swaps but nobody seems to talk much about the tanks. Who's got comments on which ones are best. Should I go with top filler tube or side. I'd really like side but I can't seem to find any pics of what that looks like. Thanks all |

Re: Truck newbie here. Need help w/EFI tanks
Yes, welcome to the forum. I ran an 89 Blazer tank in my '63. Its a 31 gallon and it does hang pretty low especially for a 2wd. Im not sure if there was a smaller capacity Blazer tank that would not hang as low but Im sure that someone here would know this. The 89 tank sending unit is interchangeable with the 97 and I think that they both had different pressure pumps. You may be able to find a stock pump that will suit your LT1 that would also drop into your tank easily. Mine is a side fill although I have not cut in the fuel filler. Its given me a little anxiety thinking about cutting another hole in otherwise cherry fender.
