Sad day for Janesville WI Chevy Plant
Sorry to report the following:
DETROIT -- General Motors’ mothballed assembly plant in Janesville, Wis., is slated to be closed permanently, the UAW disclosed in documents related to its tentative labor deal with the automaker. Output at the 96-year-old plant was shuttered in December 2008, six months ahead of GM’s bankruptcy. The former SUV factory has been on so-called standby status since then. This is the plant that assembled my 77 Chevy Sport and my friends 57 Chevrolet. Time moves on I guess. Larry |

Re: Sad day for Janesville WI Chevy Plant
I've launched product in Janesville.
One of the current GM Full Size Truck Chief Engineers got his start in Janesville. There's some good people up there. K
