Changing drums to disc's which year tie rod to order?

I have a 67 that I am going to change to disc brakes.I am trying to get my parts together.I am going to rebuild and use my original 67 compontents.I already have a set of stock height spindles off of a 72.If I read the tips correct I need to order my ball joints for a 72 and my tie rods for a 67.
Is this correct? My truck has been lowered about 4".I am going back to original stock height.I have priced coil springs and shocks. Will I have to have another rear track bar to get it back to stock height?

Everything has to match the year of the spindle.
The easiest option would be to buy 63-70 conversion spindles.
Then everything on your truck will be a direct bolt on.
You open up a can of worms switching to 71-72 spindles.

You need 71-72 balljoints and outer tie rods.
The 71-72 outer tie rods don't work with the 63-70 inner tie rods. Wrong diameter and thread pitch.
So you need either:
1) all 71-72 steering including the center link.
2) move your 67 outer tie rods to the inner location. Buy a $50-60 tie rod adapter to connect to the 71-72 outer tie rods.

All of this is in my thread at the top of the suspension section.

Buy conversion spindles!
Direct bolt on!
Nothing to change.
Stock or drop.
$229.
Every spindle company makes them.

Or get a complete 71-72 or 73-87 assembly and rebuild that.

The conversion spindles make it easy!

I wouldn't give $1 for stock spindles.
You need new bearings rotor calipers and brake components.

72farmer If you decide to continue with the spindles you bought, I have a pair of brand new tie rod adapters I never installed. PM me if you are interested.

use everything off the 72, spindles, ball joints, tie rod ends (inner and outer) centerlink, pitman, idler (yes these are the same as 67, but you get the idea).
Think of it this way... you now have 72 front suspension, use all 72 stuff. the centerlink is 71-72 only and will need this to get the correct inner & outer tie rod ends.
There are other ways to go about this, but the 71-72 centerlink and 72 spindle is the easiest. That is... if you want stock height spindles and can locate a 71-72 centerlink as they are not reproduced.

without reading through all this... I also have a 67 I lowered. CPP has an UPDATED drop spindle that uses the ORIGINAL tie rods along with the original center link... and will use the 71-72 rotors and calipers...
