Big disc swap from factory disc.

Hey guys,
been searching high/low for a 13" front disc conversion for my C-10
It already has factory 5 lug disc, just want something bigger since I now have 18" rims.
Thanks

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Big disc swap from factory disc.

i'm going to tailgate off this thread since it's hanging out there...

i've been researching big brake upgrades for the suburban's and i'm curious to the performance and daily benefits to a 13"/14" Baer or Wilwood system over a more basic 12-13" system with factory calipers and parts for these heavy ass trucks

anybody have any thoughts

Larger rotors yield more contact surface so the larger the better especially up front where 70% of braking effort is transfered.

Well not exactly. The contact area is dictated by the pads. What larger rotors have is more surface area to dissipate heat and more important, leverage. The downside is in most cases you increase unsprung weight, which can effect ride quality.

I summarized. Thanks for clarifying the specifics for those that might not know that info.
