Sure is a pain when you have a loaded bed and no tie downs, I would like to get some that hide away, what are you guys using?

You have a couple of options. You could just build up the wood that can fit into the stake holes at the top of your bed sides and put eye bolts (or screws) onto that.

There are NOS and OEM tie downs that are recessed into the bed floors but those are rare and expensive. You could make your own if you weld/fabricate any at all and bolt those to the bed floor.

I have seen other things on here, someone will chime in.

I have just some simple eye bolts the PO put into my bedsides.

I may just weld in a couple of D attachments into the front of my bed and perhaps a couple on the sides but I will probably just go with a stake (wood) construction on the bed sides.

There are also expandable rubber plugs with eye bolts. You plug these into the stake holes twist the eye bolt and they expand in the hole. Lmc sells them among others I'm sure.

I used to make a rope loop and put it in the stake hole pockets and thru the hole provided and used them to anchor the stuff I carried just need to b a bit bright and outthink the problem then just solve the problem

Trucks used to be made for owners to outfit as needed. These days they have are built to provide all the modern conveniences for today's consumers. There are the ones that go in the stake pockets, probably the best "damage-free" method. Guys these days cringe at any extra hole drilled in a truck, but over the years I have found it hard to use a truck and not have to drill some kind of holes somewhere in the bed to make the truck more useful. I have always done things in a way to compliment the truck, not detract.

Here's mine. Modified some after market bed rail tie downs, backed it under with a steel plate. I wouldnt use it for a refrigerator but works for most applications.
