67 disc brake swap and drop!

Ok guys I know this has been covered to death and I've read so much about it that I've confused myself!
Here goes!
I've got a 67 6 lug drum truck and I've also got a 72 disc brake parts truck! I want to swap all the 5 lug disc brakes over to the 67! Sounds simple but here are a few of my questions! My 67 upper and lower control arms are in way better shape than the 72 so can I use them with a 72 spindle/ball joints? Next question is since I want to buy a drop spindle should I buy for a 67 or a 72?
Any help or tips would be awesome! I want to get in on some Black Friday deals and order up some stuff soon!
Thanks!

Re: 67 disc brake swap and drop!

If your 67 a-arms are in good shape use them.
This means balljoints and cross shaft bushings, not just general appearance.
The spindles HAVE to match the ball joints.
Buy 63-70 conversion drop spindles for the same money ($229)
Use your 72 rotors and calipers for cores to trade in on new ones at your local auto parts store.
Buy a new 71-72 m/c and use the 72 prop valve.
I like using conversion brake hosed from www.earlyclassic.com

Re: 67 disc brake swap and drop!

If you decide to use the 72 parts, they are different from your 67.
71-72 trucks are by themselves.
This will require you to use the 72 a-arm or your 67 a-arms with 71-72 balljoints.
And all of the 71-72 steering.
(71-72 inner and outer tie rods and centerlink)
Of course, this would require you to order 71-72 drop spindles.

Thanks for the info lolife99
So this is what I will do. I will use my 67 control arms buy a drop spindle and ball joints for a 72 then transfer over all my 72 rotors and calipers plus steering stuff! Sound good? Also what is the biggest drop you can get on the spindle?

2.5" drop is the norm.
I think Belltech sells a 3" drop but they also cost more.
Do the 2.5" spindle and drop the rest with the spring if you want it lower.
Look for online sales or the board vendors.
But free shipping will save you a bunch.
Black Friday sales might help also.
