Smile Radiator upper bracket question

Are there different length upper brackets? The reason I ask this is because I bought a new radiator and now that I am ready to install 4 years later the bracket is too tall. This is now the second radiator I have purchased they both appear to be shorter than the original. I got my radiator from the truck shop in Orange CA. The radiator is a 4 core.

Re: Radiator upper bracket question

Yes. I think the 2 and 3 row radiators use one bracket and the 4 row radiator uses a different one. I have seen two different ones. Not sure if there is a third one.

Re: Radiator upper bracket question

I have one sitting on my desk - I'll be there shortly. What does yours measure from flat to top of saddle hump?

I am not sure I still have to measure and get back with you. I have had three of these and they were all the same size.

Re: Radiator upper bracket question

I wound up going with an aftermarket radiator (aluminum, not a Champion) and I had to splice my original radiator bracket and make it taller. It looks like your Truck Shop radiator has a short tank on it, compared to the original.

As far as I know, GM made a couple of different heights on those original brackets. You might get lucky and find one that you won't need to modify.
