hood wobbles.........
whats up brothers.... I have a 68 im working on... when driving the hood wobbles in the middle is there a support that I can put in the middle if not im thinking of fabing some up.....any help is much appreciated

Do you have the rubber pieces in between the hood skin and the braces underneath?

There should be some foam pads under the bracing. You can buy replacements for cheap.That should fix the problem. Jim

you can wedge in torn up pieces of an old pizza box as a temp fix till you get around doin it right

Even with the foam inserts mine still wobbled. Finally made a simple brace that stiffened it up.

I went to the auto parts aisle at Home Depot and bought a 1/2" x 1/2" x 36" square steel tube. Squirted some satin black paint on it, and used 3M double-sided tape for mounting chrome trim to stick it under the hood's center ridge.
Took 90% of the hood's flex away, and nobody notices it there. |
