LSX Oil Pans

I need a f body oil pan for my.....2006 vortec 5.3 I got from a chevy truck.
Does anyone have information of what years will interchange on the shallow f body oil pans please?
The truck pan hangs down about 3 inches below my crossmember. And this is not going to cut it.

Re: LSX Oil Pans

some guys use the holley street rod pan for the ls. some use the fbody, some use the gm h3 5.3 pan, there is the ctsv pan, and dont forget the shortest of them alll... the ls3 road race pan. likely you will need to take measurements. but yes fbody pans are on fleabay.

Re: LSX Oil Pans

I had the same problem with my oil pan. I purchased the Moroso 7 Qt 20140 GM LS Conversion Oil pan and new oil pickup.

Re: LSX Oil Pans

I already know I need a shallow pan fellas.
My question is what models f bodys will fit the 2006 I have? Kinda stupid to go and spend $300 plus on an oil pan. When you can take one off of a car in a yard for way less.

Re: LSX Oil Pans

Any fbody with a ls motor is your answer to it fitting your 5.3.Get the pan and pickup tube.Put a new o-ring on pickup tube on install.Check the fitment of pickup tube.If the pickup mounting bolt seems to bind or misalign the tube in the pump slot the mounting tab hole so that it attaches freely. Some of the pull the tube off center causing them to suck air and lose oil pressure.

98-02 LS1 f-body.

I don't know about yards near you, but around here LS1 f-bodies aren't just dropped in the yard for the vultures to tear apart, those drivetrains are too valuable even blown up.

Re: LSX Oil Pans

I had same issue on my 6.0.... the pan you want is from 1998-2002 f body.. you can purchase this pan at the dealer cheaper than you can get aftermarket clones. same for the exhaust manifolds.. I would have to look it up, but I think the oil pan was around $200 and I know the trailblazer ss exhaust manifold were $80 ea. all came from my local GM dealer... Good Luck, Casey

Re: LSX Oil Pans

I've used the stock truck pan on a mildly dropped C10 in the past with good results. Those results were not very good after I bagged it and caught a crown in the road. lol.
