suspension rebuild with drop?

I have an 84 front crossmember swap I am ordering rebuild parts for. I will be using 2 inch drop spindles and 1 inch drop springs in the front. Are there any specialty suspension parts that I need to use with these like pitman arms or idler arm due to the drop? or can I just use stock replacement parts for everything?

Any help would be appreciated
Jeremy

If you are use all 84 parts, you should be ok. Doing the same on mine, using 84 everything, idle arm, pitman, linkage tie rod to tie rod. That way if you need to replace no guessing. I'm doing a 2 inch drop spindle, 3 inch drop spring in front.

Use everything from the '84. Ball joints and tie rods are different then anything pre '72.

Re: suspension rebuild with drop?

Thanks for the input guys. I am planning on ordering all 84 parts, I just started to question whether any of the other parts needed to be different than stock to keep all the steering and suspension geometry correct, mis-typed also, I am only doing a 1 inch spring, for a total drop of 3 inches

I have the same setup and I just installed 3" drop spindles and 4" drop springs on my truck. I wrestled with different ideas. I ended up keeping the old springs, because I didn't know how much they had settled. I felt like I may get new 1" drop springs, only to learn that my old springs had settled an inch.

You have to measure your rotors before you order. I have 18" wheels, with 255/55 , btw

Mine ended up exactly where I wanted it.

My spindles were $200, I think. There was an issue with the length of my brake lines. I had to work a few things but I was able to use my old brake lines.
