Corvette chassis, anyone ever do it?

Saw a $600 Corvette c3 chassis on CL the other day, got me thinking. Years ago I had a 77 vette, loved that car, handled great, wouldn't it be cool to have my truck drive like that, so has anyone attempted to use this chassis under a 64-66 short wide C10? Thoughts?

Re: Corvette chassis, anyone ever do it?

Are there major differences between a C3 and a C4???? C4 are being used all the time in truck builds.

Interesting concept, but I would think the wheelbase would be very different. Do you know what the measurements are from the C3?

Im following a build of a Trailblazer under a burb. That one is looking great so im sure anything is possible.

Ask Frizzle Fry. Somewhere on the board he has a project started putting a 60-66 step-side onto a vette frame. I forgot which generation.

Found it....

its a C5 in his case

Elephant body rolling on gazelle legs...
No one's worried about the fact that any Vette weighs half what a truck weighs, and is half or less as tall?
Same as putting full size trucks on S10 frames.

Re: Corvette chassis, anyone ever do it?

When picking a donor suspension or a chassis to go under a project a few things need to be looked at. Track width, length, spring rates, shock valving, roll center, weight of the vehicle, weight split and the center of gravity to see if any or all of the characteristics of the donor will transfer to the project. You may find that what worked well under the donor works very poorly under its new home.

Actually, there's only about 300 lbs difference between the two. Look it up for yourself. Corvettes weigh more than most people think.
