homemade 4 inch side pipes
I am thinking on running 4 inch side pipes on my 57 stepside project with a 468bb. My ?? is what muffler can I use inside the sidepipes.any help would be appreciated...Jim

Speedway used to sell muffler inserts for just such an application.
You can also easily adapt 4" purple hornets too. Don't ask how I know. I will tell you I will never do stacks or side exhaust again on anything and especially not on an old truck. After all that work and planning and expense the first thing that came to mind is these don't look as good as I thought they would .... then I started the engine. Call me old or something like that but it was so loud I didn't even want to ride in it and I built it. Both setups were 030 over 9to1 454's. I like a good sounding engine but these were over the top. super trap makes replacement mufflers for there tip's that just hold in by two scerws through the pipe...they should work
