Assiming it has been tuned and has a correct fuel curve,, you should have no problem making 650+ and a mid/high 10 if you have traction,, that could be a BIG "IF". It will require stickeys and a well tuned suspension to get there.

I'm with Marv on that one. 650hp and mid to high (probably 10.80 .90 ish) optimal conditions. You need a little more convertor though.

When I say more convertor. I mean a dyno sheet sent to the TC builder.

Re: HP/TQ and ET/MPH predictions on new combo

My junk ran 11.17 @ 117mph in 1989. That was with an old 468 with LS6 pistons (11.5 to 1) closed chamber square port heads Comp cams solid lifter cam .637 lift (cb 310). There are two of those cams from Comp I had the better one. lol. Anyhow the lobe center was 110 and I had it setup at 104. These old trucks are heavy and anything but aerodynamic. You need torque!

It ran 10.30 at 130 on the spray!

Yes I realize that, but since it is a Nostalgia class,454s didn't come out in 67,thats why it has a 427,have to make the best of what I have to work with and there is a .675 restriction on lift

Have the heads flowed and then speak to Mike Jones or Chris Straub for a camshaft. Are you limited to a flat tappet? If not I would go roller.

I agree about the converter, it needs more and I agree with having the engine dynoed to get the correct converter.

You may also want to spin it a little higher to get the power and run more gear.

Re: HP/TQ and ET/MPH predictions on new combo

the .652 lift is a roller.i was planning on shifting around 6800,and it has a 4.86 gear, you think I should go higher on both, the 4.86 was a compromise between some events at an 1/8th mile track and some 1/4

I guess it depends on what you are trying to do. 6800rpms from a 427 with those heads isn't a lot. It's going to take some rpm to run fast in a heavy truck. The extra gear will help get it moving. It's all about the combo. I don't know what those heads flow but I'll bet you could use a little more exhaust duration.

Re: HP/TQ and ET/MPH predictions on new combo

Do they have a duration spec? You can cheat the lower lift with some duration. .937 lifter will help and higher ratio rockers .
