Another eBay Survivor: 1963

Anyone seen this one yet?

Very nice, solid body, original engine, running gear, etc...

Love the period correct, well preserved camper shell too!!

I gotta tell ya....I really, really like the originality & nostalgia of that '63. ^^^^^^

Price seems reasonable to me for a dry truck.

Man, if I didn't already have this '62 SWB in my shop....very, very tempting!!

Anybody wanna buy my '62??

That is one cool looking truck.

Is that two paint scheme original or just something that was possibly added early on?

9500 is a little steep for me, but then when you consider that the body seems to be in Pristine shape....almost worth it cause you may be able to get out of the body work. Thing is in pretty darn good shape.

Not going to comment on value, but the look of the paint/patina raises suspicion. The white top at least is not original, and the green looks odd, like it's be worked over somehow. It may still be original, just not untouched.
Cool shell for sure.

Re: Another eBay Survivor: 1963

Well, it does have a "Best Offer" option, so someone could get a decent deal I believe.

Now that I've had a cooling off period, I'd rather just keep my '62 in the long run as I prefer the wide bed....it's just the old period correct canopy looks so cool on that '63, I like it.

Don't these trucks have a black primer. I don't see any primer showing through just rust.

Your right, the green does look odd and I think I know why. Take a look at all the faded areas. Not the rust, just the green faded to white. All of the "fades" are horizontal. Naturally it should fade in all directions. Not only in one direction. The only non horizontal fade is following the contour of the wheel opening. To me this suggests that someone tried for the "patina" look by scotch bright or simple green or something similar and rubbed all in the same direction. At least thats the impression it gives me.

I was thinking the patina looked a little too "staged" myself. I do like me a good '63 and with a kool camper too. Funny thing, I have the same rear bumper sitting on the side of the house waiting to be fitted onto mine. Wonder where in Ca it is?

Whoa, just looked again at the pics of inside the camper. Does anyone else think that there's enough wood to support a 2nd story addition in there? Still pretty cool. Looking more like a truck is getting flipped though.

Well according to ebay's location it says its in Castroville. That's between San Jose and Monterey on HWY 1. Near Gilroy and Salinas. I would have loved to go check it out but just a little too far away for me.

I love that tool box in the bed.

Just looking at it I wast thinking it might have been recently washed and the moister still drying off of dull paint was causing those streaks. But the ground is not wet so I might be wrong. The green paint just looks to thick.
