h4 Headlight Conversion for 5 3/5 sealed beams? What did you use?
Ive been looking for the Headlight housing to convert my headlights to h4 style bulbs.
I see all sorts of 7" stuff, but nothing for the small dual headlight setups, I know its been done, I just cant find any part #'s or anything to go by. A lot of people say Hella Lights but I cant see any numbers and all I seem to find are metric sizes, is it one of these that fits? Just looking for a little guidance, thanks in advance! Aaron

If you google 5.75 h4 conversion you'll get a few options in the results, including Hella. Amazon and Summit both carry a few brands, as well as some other sites.
One thing you might look at too is Dapper Lighting. They just came out with their 5.75 HID kit that comes with 4 lights, two high, two low. They're not cheap @ around 400 I think for the setup. I haven't received mine yet to test, but I've read some reviews of their first generation, and their 7" lights and they seem pretty good. |

Re: h4 Headlight Conversion for 5 3/5 sealed beams? What did you use?
I used Hella H5006a for my low beam conversions. I didn't change the high beams as I just don't use them very much. I bought mine from Amazon @ $92.58 two years ago. They really work nice and bolt right in. I did have to cut off the rear of the rubber seal to get the plugs to fit properly:
Amazon.com: HELLA 002850811 135mm H4 High/Low... The installation can be seen on page 35 of my build thread.

Re: h4 Headlight Conversion for 5 3/5 sealed beams? What did you use?
One of the problems with 5.75" H4's is the lack of reflector area compared to 7" round or 5x7" rectangle H4's. Only half of the reflector is dedicated for low beam use, which isn't much reflector area. Using only half of a small reflector to multiply through the lens means they don't perform well at all.
A better option is H1 low beams like Hella Bi-Focus housings. The whole reflector and lens is used for the low beam pattern so it puts out much more light than an H4. The best price I've found on them are on Amazon UK. With shipping it's around $150-160 for a pair. Other than these, the only other recommendation I'd make would be for Dapper's HID's. They look like a great product and the price is very reasonable for what you're getting. Hella H4's will be a slight upgrade and they cost around $100 plus shipping for a pair. If you're spending that much then it's not that much more to go with Bi-Focus lights instead. Hella 1B3 128 267-001 Headlight Insert,...

LMC has replacements with glass lenses.
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/CBE/full.aspx?Page=61 Look at part numbers 36-0300 and 36-0301. $35 a piece. |

I like the ECE Hellas. Same classic glass look but with much better light output with H4 bulbs. I have the 7" but they make them for 5-3/4".

We just released our 575 series headlamps. They're pretty sweet lights.
Apologies for the bad product photos. We're shooting them this week. |

That's what I picked up. I think you can get with without a halo, with a traditional halo, or with the "iron man" halo like I did.
I haven't installed or tested them yet. So far though customer service has been awesome. |
