What do yo think of theese ebay swap headers???
I have been looking at headers for my swap for a long time now. I want ceramicoated or stainless steel, something that looks nice in the engine bay. I want 1 3/4 primary up to 2 inch because ill have around 600 plus hp. I have considered these ebay SPEED ENGINEERING T 304 Stainless steel headers. I couldn't find these exact headers on amazon but the same brand ones have pretty good reviews
http://www.ebay.com/itm/361471364664...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT also thinking of these stainless steel ceramicoated Gibson ones http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gib-gp139s-c and these uncoated Gibson ones http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gib-gp139s Trailblazer ss armor coated ones on ebay are tempting and cheap but ive had armor coated headers from pacesetter and they rust at the welds. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161400990945...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT These are crazy expensive but very nice http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-45716 Very tempted to buy the first 1 7/8 inch ebay headers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

IMO Ebay stainless is notoriously thin, and usually not metalurgically "pure". There is a tendency for them to crack at weld/stress point, and then not weld that nicely when you try to repair them.
I'd go for a mild steel header from a higher quality brand before doing the ebay stainless ones if its for something I planned on really using.

The Gibson performance ceramicoated are ceramicoated on the inside and outside
Hummmm may have to bite the bullet. They also have a $50 rebate and a structural lifetime guarantee!!!!!! |

Re: What do yo think of theese ebay swap headers???
What are you trying to fit these in? Those 1-7/8 or 2" big tubes really don't like to fit in the 60-66 from my experience, especially with stock style engine perches. I'd imagine that the 67-72 would be pretty similar.
I went from a cast-TBSS manifold, to a Hedmann 3/4 length header and even that had a couple "close" areas.

Putting a Lsa supercharged 6.0 in my 70 suburban. I ordered the ceramicoated Gibson 1 3/4 headers last night. I have CPP engine stands and mounts on the way.
