Question, 1981 and 1985 sheet metal interchangeable?

I just got home with an 85 Stepside that needs a few things. I have a nice 81, 3/4 ton donor truck. Same stuff?
Thanks

Re: Question, 1981 and 1985 sheet metal interchangeable?

As I'm doing some homework I noticed in some pictures that the 85 Chevy seems to have 2 different front ends, a single headlight with turn signal below the the light and double headlights, one on top of the other. What option or package made the difference?
Thanks

I believe the single lights was the lower trim options trucks while the duals was the higher trim trucks.

RPO V22 "Uplevel Grille".

The base grille single headlamp version was Custom Deluxe and Scottsdale (Z62). You could add V22 (dual headlamps) to a Scottsdale if you wanted - which is what I always did.

Uplevel grille was included with the Silverado (YE9) package.

You are welcome. You happened to ask one I knew (or remembered) the answer to!
