1962 window weatherstriping question

Hey all, I need to order some weatherstrip for the doors on my 62. The websites all say the weatherstrip is for non-framed glass. I believe mine in framed glass. Any idea where to get it? Thanks

lmc truck has a whole kit p/n 38-5993.

I agree with regards to the channel felt...the LMC product was a Made in the USA product and worked perfectly. The door weather stripping is another matter...

With no disrespect to any LMC fans, I would not recommend LMC or any of the other "Supply Stores" that use the standard imported product for the rubber stripping inside the door jamb. I too had LMC, put it in and the doors would not shut anymore. It looked the same, but the doors wouldn't shut.

I asked here on-line for some advice (same as you) and some of the guys recommended Sof-Seal. I called Sof-Seal and they said the nature of their weatherstripping is softer...more like the original materials back when these trucks were built. Even though the LMC stuff profile will look to be the same...I can assure you that it is not. Ask me how I know...

I have Sof-Seal, and highly recommend them. I also recommend that before you go too far (in case you haven't painted yet), make sure the lip that holds the stripping, is evenly spaced away from the door so that the molding doesn't get too pinched...

Get in the truck, close the door and see if you can get about 1/2" spacing...especially along the bottom of the door between the lip and the door facing.

As far as your windows go, you can pull the frames off the glass and get replacement felt liner at just about any glass shop. I pulled mine apart, took the frames to get powder coated and then had the glass shop reassemble everything for the door glass. I watched them do it and I think I could have done it myself...

Geesh, as the saying goes, you learn something new everyday. I had never seen framed glass before nor hadn't heard about it. Looks very cool, old Skool cool.

Just looking for the window weatherstripping right now. I already used the honda van rubber for the doors from the auto wrecker...works excellent rubber is soft...Thanks for the LMC comments...

Actually the only one I have seen with it as well. (not that there's lots of them up here...)
