Vent window trim
Hey guys, question about my vent windows. A previous owner must have replaced one of the doors with a used one (maybe both) because one of my vent windows has black plastic trim and the other has chrome trim. I'm assuming it depended on the trucks trim level? Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I was wondering if aftermarket vent window assemblies come with chrome trim or not. Also, is there a cheaper route to getting chrome trim for a vent window than potentially buying an entire assembly?

Re: Vent window trim
It's a 72 Custom. Thanks for the advice, I'll check ebay and will give Mr. Koop a shout if I can't find what I'm looking for.

Re: Vent window trim
There is no trim on vent windows. You are referring to the window frame. If yours is a '72 Custom, then the painted frame is the original one. The chrome vents came on Custom Deluxe and up. Those trucks had stainless trim in the window gaskets, pedals, and aluminum centers on the dash knobs

Re: Vent window trim
I gotcha. I called it the vent window trim because it's a part of the vent window assembly, wasn't sure what the actual terminology was. If I can't find a suitable stainless replacement for the passenger side, could I scuff up the trim on the driver's side and paint it black to match or would it be noticeably different? I wouldn't mind saving some coin as long as it would turn out well.
